The Malaysian Bond And Sukuk Almanac 2020 featuring special ESG sections
15 February, 2021
BPAM releases its annual publication, the Malaysian Bond and Sukuk Almanac 2020 today. This report provides an overview of the Malaysian bond market as at 31 December 2020 with special commentaries on Malaysia’s Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) fixed income landscape.
Presenting a complete guide on issuer profiles and listings of government and corporate bonds and sukuk, the top issuers, lead arrangers and trustees in various categories, the BPAM Bond and Sukuk Almanac is an essential handbook for individuals, market players, issuers as well as local and international investors.
“The Malaysian bond market remains relevant as a primary capital raising conduit for businesses. The current blight caused by the Covid-19 pandemic has been pivotal in the transition to an automated and digitalised business environment for many organisations. BPAM remains committed to be the provider of choice for relevant bond market information for decision making. Although the total new issuance of bonds (and sukuk) has dropped in 2020 (MYR 366.7 billion) compared to 2019 (MYR384.8 billion), the future remains bright with ESG based investments expected to be the main drivers going forward.” said Meor Amri Meor Ayob, BPAM’s Chief Executive Officer.
The Malaysian Bond and Sukuk Almanac 2020 is available on BPAM’s website and BondStream, BPAM’s custom made platform and data-mining tool for the Malaysian Fixed Income Market.
